Au-dessus de la voie ferrée
À regarder les trains passer;
Up on the railroad track
Watching trains go forth and back,
Sound of heavy steel,
Scratching wheels,
Talk to me about the long journeys I took,
Not by myself, but with a book,
Doors open, doors close
To the footsteps of come and go,
Conversations of where you're from
And where you're heading to,
Exchanging beliefs with a warm look.

A lovely piece, dear Anca. ❤️Nostalgic for me, of once riding the rails myself.
